Micromedex Product Design
Led redesign and prototype for a drug and disease database with 350,000 searches per day
I led the design of the prototype for Micromedex, a drug and disease database for healthcare providers. This product was over 50 years old, had more than 350,000 searches per day and was used in over 70 countries. I led the strategy and approach for the initiative to secure internal and external support. The goal of the work was to update the product design to meet customer expectations, without disrupting the existing users.
In my role as design director, I worked closely with the lead designer to create the prototype in Figma. Together we provided the designs and guidance for user testing to the Product team.
Highlights:
Gained support for re-design initiative
Created design strategy
Developed prototype
Oversaw the Figma design flow
Provided guidance for user testing
Future State Concept
This shows a “nice-to-have” future state version of the product. This mockup is to advocate for the investment in product development and to reimagine the user interface.
